Count down!

Which comes first, the artists or the customers?? The chicken and egg routine is driving me a little batty at the moment – I feel as though I am in stop/start mode, trying to move forward and then pulling myself back.

One thing is for sure – and that is the legal docs on need to be AIR TIGHT so that we can protect the valuable work of artists, as well as ourselves! We also need to protect the rights of clients…so right now, we are basically in the protection business.

Lawyers are either reviewing docs or being lined up for second opinions right now…and so I wait anxiously as they expensively peruse the carefully worded documents that took me two weeks to write.

In the meantime, I can check out a favorite video art rabbit hole….the Saatchi Online Gallery. It’s a mixture of students and emerging artists, some documenting installations, others experimenting with video. Whatever you find, you gotta love the Saatchi Online concept which presents uncurated work of all descriptions for sale. Love the concept, hate the look and usability of the site….unlike the ShinyArt model, which will not only filter work and have categories and tags that enable you to drill down and find you like in a timely manner, you may spend hours wandering around Saatchi Online before you see anything worthwhile. A nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Itching to get going……
